Advice for an extremely active 15 month old and outings
My DS is 15 months and he is extremely active in that once he's isn't confined (pack n play, stroller, hi chair) he's all over the place. He was an early walker and once you hold him he is itching to her down which is FINE when home etc but it's becoming hard in public places. He's too young to understand stay near mommy or hold my hand. He wants to be FREE! My DD who is 6 wasn't like that at all. She loved to be carried and if she was put down she never would run off or go far. She stood by us.
My DS is a maniac!
He's a good boy just is happy as a clam when he's free and running around. But in reality he can't be confined all the time.
What is the best way to handle this at this age?

No advise but I am in the same situation. He is only happy when he is moving. Or eating. And he can't eat all the time lol.

Ha ha! I should have mentioned that!!!! Eating is my only answer for him - but he can't eat Cheerios 24/7 lol

Ugh that's my life right now too. My 4 year old dd was sooooo much easier. My ds is 16m, been walking since 12 months and loves to climb, run, duve, you name it. I just keep telling myself this stage will be over soon haha

Baby proof well at home.
In public places, a leash is not a bad thing at that age in crowded places (yes, I used one with DS).
Alternately, just ditch stroller & let him walk himself out.

ITA in a public place if he is going to walk attach a leash. I used the backpack one with my older dd who was a runner. It keeps them safe and you less stressed. I know some people frown on a leash but really who cares. Once my dd started climbing out of a 5 point harness stroller I had no other option I couldn't chase her all over the place. They do out grow it by 20 months she had calmed down and stop the running, climbing on every surface phase.

I still wear my daughter in public when she does not want to be held or be in the stroller- she is still confined but can see everything- she likes her carrier- she is 16.5 months. I agree with the pp that said get a backpack with a leash. It is a safe alternative to keeping your ds confined.

My ds is very active too
Before that I had twins
So I started enforcing this rule early..."you hold my hand or you go back in the stroller" it's work in the beginning but in the long run it makes things easier.
At 15 months it's a lot of in and out of the stroller with some tantrums but my ds is now 2 and knows I mean business
