please refresh my memory....how many oz of milk did your child drink coming home from hospital and how often? Also, which formula is he/she drinking? Thanks.

I've always EBF but from covering mother/baby unit at times about 2oz every 3 hours.

My DD is now 2 months -- I'll preface this by saying she loves to eat and may not be your "normal" baby for comparison. She came home from the hospital easily finishing the 2oz nursette bottles that they give you in the hospital -- she was eating every 2.5 hours. I believe she was up to 3oz per feeding at around a week old. LIJ uses Similac Advance and we eventually switched her to the Similac Sensitive version (orange container). One she was doing well on that and we saw reduced gas and fussiness, we switched her to the BJ's brand sensitive powder to save money. It's soooooo much cheaper and I actually think she's doing better on it than she was on Similac. I found (and still do) that the ready to feed liquid constipates her, which is one of the reasons we use powder (and the $ aspect). At 2 months, she sleeps through the night (8-9 hours) and during the day is up to 6oz per day feeding which is now closer to 4 hours apart. Her last bottle before bed is 7oz and her first bottle in the morning is also 7oz -- she's super hungry when she wakes since she technically misses 2 feedings during the night. She is 12lbs 10oz, which I think the pediatrician said is the 78th percentile for weight. I am a believer that the baby should drink however much they want, whenever they want. They'll refuse it/stop drinking if they're not hungry! Good luck!

DD was drinking 2oz every 3 hours for the first couple of weeks. Then we moved up to 2.5oz for a month or so.

We alternated pumped bm and up & up's version of enfamil.

DD eats 2 oz for the most part every 3 hours.. sometimes she will take more, close to 3 oz if she is really hungry. I only FF so she was on Similac Advance, but have been dealing with gas issues so I switched her to Similac Sensitive... going to give it some time to see how she does.

however much they want. They will not overeat and you just need to follow their cues. They tell you loud and clear when they are hungry.

Daughter is 22 days old and is drinking 3-4 ounces every 2-3 hours. I am breastfeeding and supplementing with a goat milk formula recipe i found. I usually only get 2-3 ounces per pump session (every 3-4 hours).

My guy took 3 oz for maybe 2 weeks, since then he varies between 3-5. Breastmilk though. About every 3 hours.

DD drank 1.5-2 oz every three hours initially.

She ended up with a milk protein allergy, but the sequence of formulas was: similac (hospital samples), gerber good start (my peds rec), good start gentle or soothe (I can't remember which), nutramigen, then ultimately rx formula.

DD was at 2oz. We used enfamil.

DD is 9 days and is eating 3 oz every 3 hrs. Sometimes she goes 4 or close to 5 at night. Then sometimes it's 2 hr 45 min.

Every baby is different. Feed until the baby is satisfied.

DD went home from the hospital not finishing 2 oz. Within 2 weeks she was up to 4 oz bottles, and she's 7 weeks and still only taking 4 oz.
