BTDT mamas: newborn shoot
Okay, so we are thinking of doing a newborn shoot when our LO arrives. My question is those of you that did one, did you go to the studio or do it at home?
Somehow I cannot picture taking my few days old baby out of the house and driving a ways away to do a shoot. Will I be up to it? Will the baby? Is it better to pay the extra money and do it at home?
Any advice? TY

most of them do it in your house, i know christine melissa did. you may be exhausted but its well worth it. baby is sleeping a lot (and they should be feed and sleepy for the shoot) so for the baby its nothing! lol.

The photographer we used travels free of charge within a certain radius. Anything further is just $50 extra.
We did it at home and IMO much better that way.

We did our NB shoot with Christine Melissa and she came to us. It was so convenient to have it in our house We took breaks to feed and she was SO patient!

i had a csection and was at Summerlyn's studio 6 days PP... we drove about 40 mins also.
it was fine. i sat on her couch drinking her gingerale and eating her crackers because i was so sick from pain meds 
oh, did i mention the shoot was at 830am after night #2 home! 
really, it wasnt a big deal. it was 3 hours and I didnt do a thing. Summer took him and I didnt move for three hours

Me too! It was great, I could comfortably nurse or change him in between shots.

For DS I had Summerlyn come to our house and did not want it any other way.
Having said that, being BTDT, for DC #2, I'd also prefer to be at home but would travel to her studio for scheduling situations.
I would play it by ear with the photog. Sometimes they are shooting like a champ on site and sometimes they are on a roll in the studio. They have a preference too so I'd want their best game.

I took the baby to a Target Studio.. They specialized in Newborn shoots. You have to find the good ones..
I spend less than $100. Gorgeous photos..
