13 month old Won't drink water

How horrible is this? He refuses!!! Only drinks milk (from bottle). Refuses every sippy. Won't drink anything but milk.

I know it sounds weird but when ds was about that age I would feed him water on a spoon lol... it was the only way he'd take it! For some reason he loved it on a spoon, maybe it seemed like food I don't know.

He still doesn't care for plain water. I often mix a little bit of apple juice into it for taste & then he'll usually drink it.

Just keep trying! And I'd try different kinds of cups, too.

I drink from a camelback straw bottle all day long so dd learned to drink from that early on bc she wanted to be like me. We eventually got her the kids version and now my 7 month old likes that one too.

DD will drink water, but not milk. However, like a pp she will drink if I feed it to her on a spoon. Maybe try that?

Ok! Gonna try the spoon idea! He will like it bc he eats like a beast so he will see the spoon and be excited! I have tried no joke 5 kids of sippy cups. He flicks it on his teeth, laughs then throws on floor.

This was my exact post a month ago. That DD would only take a bottle, no cups. She wouldn't drink water though, even from a bottle.
A month later and she is refusing all bottles- only drinking from a straw cup and she barely wants milk. She drinks an ounce of it and is done. She drinks about 14 ounces of water a day. Adding lemon to her water was a game changer for us. She won't take water w/o it.

i just came from my sons 1 year check up and asked the dr about this.
He said to keep offering it bc if they are thirsty enough they will take it. But he also said that if he takes 20 (or possibly 24oz - i have to look back and what he wrote down) a day of milk and still wants more, to start diluting the milk with water. Getting too much milk can be bad, so this way it limits his milk intake and also gets water in his system

I wouldn't try juice mixed with the water just yet. Buy a couple of different sippy cups and maybe he might like one best. DD loves sucking on ice if I put it in one of those mesh teethers. So if he starts to like ice then maybe he like like the ice water.
