Re: Little Gym vs. Gymboree
I did both.
I liked Gymboree a bit more than Little Gym - and my son as well.
But, more than both combined, I love love LOVE "My Gym". They have a location in Stony Brook -- which is not far from Little Gym (I live in Smithtown) and another location in Huntington, among others. But those are closest to me and they are the same owner so they allow me to go between the two - depending on what is more convenient for me.
The one in Stony Brook is right by where J&R's Steakhouse used to be -- by the Lake Grove Diner and Friendly's - a little after that. It is amazing. They do almost an hour, they have classes on SUNDAY! They have tons of classes on weekends as well as weekdays because they don't shut down for birthday parties the way that Gymboree does.
There used to be a Gymboree location in Saint James but they closed so, for me, East Northport was too far. The other thing was I found it to be not nearly as clean as My Gym.
Anyway, they start with a little free play - kids get to explore. My son goes bananas, loves it. They play great music. Then they do activities -- changing every five - eight minutes, and allowing kids time to play on their own in between. They have circle time, they do a puppet show, they bring out swings and hang them! I just cannot rave enough about it.
Wonderful place. Highly recommended.
I think once you go to an intro class you'll never go back.
They switch up what they do too! Always new and exciting.

Hmm - I'm not sure if it is the same one I went to.
The one I went to in Huntington is right on Jericho Tpke... Near the Ethan Allen that is at the 110/Walt Whitman and Jericho intersection.
Is that the same?
You'll love it!!

Yes! We are at My Gym a few times a week and I love it. I also love how unlimited is included, whereas i think with Little Gym its extra. My daughter is very cautious of people and the instructors are great.
