Is it normal for a toddler to be extra whiny/irritable for several days after being sick?

Dd is 2.5 and has hardly ever been sick her whole life. Just a couple of mild colds. On Monday she had a fever for about 24 hours, and was so listless and miserable, threw up once, wouldn't eat or drink, but no other symptoms. Then the next morning her fever was gone and she seemed fine and energetic. She went back to playing normally and has been fine since. Except she's still not eating much and she's been sooooo cranky, much more than usual. I keep thinking she's probably acting that way because she must be hungry, but she refuses most of what I offer her and when she does eat, she's done after a few bites. She saw the doctor yesterday, who said she seemed fine, and had no sign of infection. But when will she go back to her happy, eating-everything-in-sight self ?

When she's 22. dd is a sour patch kid. One minute she's the sweetest thing next she is a beast.

Her tummy might be a little unsettled still. I would give it a few more days and then expect it to be back to normal.

Thanks, it's been 5 days since her fever broke and she's still not eating normally, but she is eating a little here and there. She's acting energetic and happy for the most part though (still a little more cranky and tired than usual). We went to a birthday party yesterday and she didn't eat much at all for dinner, just a few bites of bread, but then of course she wolfed down the cake, so she can eat, she's just been choosing not to. Maybe it's just a control thing and not even related to her being sick. She is drinking plenty of milk and water though, at least.
