Overnight leaking
My 2 year old has been leaking through his diapers overnight. I went up to next size a few days ago but he still leaks some nights. I have to admit he drinks tons before bed but if he is thirsty I feel he should drink. What's the next step? Diaper lines, if so which ones? Any other suggestions?

Dumb question but are they overnight diapers??
Meaning, the special nighttime diapers?
With my son, because he does drink a lot of water, I put a nighttime diaper on him when he goes to bed, around 7pm, and then before I go to bed I change the diaper... around 11pm.
Sometimes, if I go to bed earlier or I go in there and feel him and it's not that wet yet, I'll wait and wake for a minute around 2am, change it to a new nighttime diaper, and then he's good.
There have been plenty of times where if I did not do this, he would have peed through even the nighttime diaper!
Not sure if your son is as good of a sleeper -- meaning, a deep sleeper -- and that you'd be able to change him without him waking up and wanting to get up. For me, DS goes to bed between 6pm-7pm and sleeps until 7am. And he is a deep sleeper so I can do a quick change of a diaper and he won't be disturbed and will go right back. Half the time he doesn't even fully wake. But it's a lifesaver.

We use luvs ultra absorbency at night (cruisers pampers during day.) so it is supposed to hold more. Changing diaper is not an option he isn't best sleeper to begin with.

with both of my kids, i found the huggies overnight diapers to be the best

Try a different diaper. We have the same problem with Luvs (LO uses them during the day). Leaking at night with Luvs and even Huggies (tried once, it was as if they didn't absorb anything). We use Pampers Baby Dry in a size up from the daytime diapers.

Yeah, first, try a different brand -- Huggies Nighttime or Pampers Nighttime - both worked good for my son in terms of absorbency!
Since a mid-night change is not an option, once you change brands, if you are still not having luck you could always do the old school two diapers at night. It might be circa-1978 but my mom did that to my brother and he turned out OK  She would put one on and then another right over it.

I double diaper at night (literally one diaper on, then put another diaper on).
