Shayne Lamas's stepmom carrying her baby
This is truly a tight-knit family.
Shayne Lamas’ stepmom, Shawna Craig, is carrying her baby. At 29 years old, Lamas is a year older than her stepmother, who is acting as her surrogate.
“Shawna’s not just my stepmother, she’s like a soul sister,” Lamas said in the latest issue of Closer, which featured exclusive family portraits. “She’s an angel that blessed my whole family, including my father.”
Craig, 28, is the fifth wife of Shayne’s father, Lorenzo Lamas, who was on “The Bold and the Beautiful” from 2004 to 2006 and most famously starred in “Renegade.”
Shayne and husband Nik Richie’s quest to have more children, after welcoming daughter Press Dahl three years ago, has been ongoing.
They lost their unborn baby boy in 2014 after she suffered a uterine rupture. As a result, the couple can no longer have children biologically.
Craig, who actually works at a fertility agency that helps couples (like Shayne and Richie) select egg donors and surrogates, decided to become a surrogate for her husband’s daughter.
“I’m ecstatic to be pregnant,” said Craig, who is due to give birth to a boy July 10. “It’s the best thing in the world.”
Recognizing how special their blended family is, Shayne admits the situation is not typical.
“Somebody else carrying your baby is weird,” she added. “But I lost my son, and now Shawna is carrying my son. I have been given the biggest blessing in the whole world and I will always be grateful.”
Shayne and Richie, who is the creator of TheDirty.com, quickly met and wed in April 2010 in a Las Vegas ceremony.

I have no clue who any of these people are, but having a stepmother who is a year younger then you are is creepy and gross.
Sweet thing to do though.

Shayne was actually a Bachelor "winner". She was the one with the British bachelor.

I dont believe she needed an egg donor. She used her own eggs from other articles I read. The stepmom was an egg donor AND surrogate counselor.

My DH's step mother is 15 years younger than he is... I'm not saying it's not gross, but that it can be far, far worse.
Very nice of her to do though.

She had a terrible miscarriage that almost caused her to lose her life, it was a very sad thing to hear about.
They did reality tv.
I like them and happy she is able to have another child.

While I do think it is a nice thing that the step mom is doing, I agree that her being a year younger than the daughter is a bit odd to me. I wouldn't be happy about my dad being married 5 times and the last wife being younger than me.

I think it's wonderful of the step mother. Shayne lost her uterus in a traumatic miscarriage/uterine rupture. It's great that she has a surrogate in her stepmom. I don't think its weird or gross that the SM is younger. They all look like adults who can deal.

I saw Lorenzo on a talk show - to add to the crazy set up of this family, his son slept with one of his wives after they divorced. Not sure of the ages of any of them. He didn't talk to his son for 2 years.

That's probably what the article meant but it also stated that she could no longer have children biologically. Guess another example of poor journalism.

plus he could not remember who is 3rd or 2nd wife was, he mixed the order up. The interviewer had to correct him.
After 3 marriages stop..

Ditto!! Hearing the story of what happened broke my heart!! They had a very rocky relationship and this tragedy has brought them so much closer. I'm happy for them that they are being blessed with another baby.
