Melissa and Doug Stamp Set Questions
I know it is early, but I was working on a holiday wish list and was considering putting on a stamp set for DD who will be a little under 2.5 years old when the holidays roll around. But the stamp sets all say 4+ on them. I'm not really sure why. She does dot art already and I don't see a stamp as being very different... can anyone who has them explain? Is it appropriate for younger kids and they just don't list it or am I missing something? Thanks.

No I think it's fine for that age. I'm assuming because of the ink and parents not supervising? My older DO has been playing with them for years so my younger DO has been playing with them probably since before she even turned 2.

I hardly ever pay attention to those age suggestions. DS has stamps and loves them. He won't be 2 till November.
I would assume it's on there for parents that would just leave their LOs with ink and small stamps, and they can put either in their mouths.

Re: Melissa and Doug Stamp Set Questions
DS got one for his 3rd bday. He loves it. As others said, unsupervised the ink could be a disaster. Maybe because it takes a certain amount of fine motor skill to get the stamp on the ink pad and then to the paper?
