What is the difference between size 6 and size 6x?

Ok, thanks! My mom has bought my DD a ton of fall clothes all size 6x. She is tall and thin. I'll have her return it for 6.

Its a size between 6 & 7. My daughter is a 6x now & she is average.

This. My DD is not chunky at all but 6 is a little small and 7 is too big. I've found the size 6X/7 at Children's Place fit her well. The length is good but I do have to cinch the adjustable waist on almost the last hole. But she has room to grow so that's good.

So not true.
6x a size between 6 and 7. My 7 yr old DD is no where near chunky. 7 is too long and too big, 6 is a little short but not tight and still fits. The 6x is the right length. My DD is 40% for height and weight. I think 6x is a girls size and not a boys size.
For example at Osh Kosh:
6:
Height: 45-47 inches
Weight: 43-48 lbs
6x:
Height: 47-49 inches
Weight: 49-54 lbs
7:
Height: 49-52 inches
Weight: 55-63 lbs
