Need help with 2yr old

This is the 2nd or 3rd time DD has gotten a note sent home on her behavior. It kills me that my kid is the one who is now being rough. I had to talk with her for not listening yesterday and hitting a classmate in daycare. Today after we talked about being gentle I have the teacher tell me she pulled and ripped out someone's hair. I feel horrible for the child she did this to and the reasoning was that it was dance time and the girl wasn't dancing with her but instead fixing her shoe.
I know she is 2 and she's learning.
Here is my issue
How do I get her to stop and not think it's funny when I ask her about it?
At home iI take away her Frozen and sesame privileges and she flips out.

How do I get her to really know that's bad?

If you have the chance to read 'Toddler Rules' you may find a few things in there that will help. She addresses these types of behavior in her book and i found a few things pretty insightful. Best of luck!

Re: Need help with 2yr old

At 2 years old I would avoid a punitive behavior plan, and use a token economy system instead. Over the weekend start a new system that can be followed through at school. For my DD I colored in and laminated a do-a-dot page, leaving the "dots" white. Every time I caught my DD "being good", she would get to color in an empty spot on the page (we started with a age that had only 5 white spots). When her 5 spots were colored in she earned 10 minutes of IPAD time ( I set the timer on the oven). I would wipe off the colored in spots and start again. Initially you had to over praise them and let them earn a lot so they get what is being asked of them. Lots of " I love they way you just shared the ball with Daddy, go give yourself a sticker on your chart!", "nice job sitting in your chair, go give yourself a sticker"... You can do a simple sticker chart instead of coloring (after she earns 5 stickers she gets her reward). Find a system that's interesting to her and a reward that's highly motivating. At 2 yrs, my DD was obsessed with the iPad so I took it away and let her earn it through the token economy. In your case I would use a reward the can provide her with at school too (bubbles, playdoh...). I also found reading books like, calm down time, hands are not for hurting etc... helped a lot too. Also give her replacement behaviors ie/ instead of pulling so and so's hair, you can use your words and ask her to dance, go and get a teacher to help, go find someone else to dance with...

Thank goodness today way a better day. They noticed when she was going to act up and redirected her and that seemed to work.

School/SEIT suggested that rather than saying what you don't want the child to do ("Don't hit") say what you want him to do ("hands on your own body please").
That's the wording they use at school so we use the same at home for consistency. We also do a lot of redirecting. DS is almost 3. He's becoming a hitter/pusher. But his also comes from frustration of not being able to communicate.
