Holy Lapsed Catholic!
Joseph was getting ready for bed, talking about sending a card to his aunt (she's on life support). He said I need to send a card to her quickly befor it's too late. I said "What do you mean too late?" He said "Before she goes to Heaven. Is that a town close to where we live?" So I tell him I'll get him a book about heaven & we could talk about it. He's already seen All Dogs Go To Heaven, so I thought I didn't need to go into more detail than that.
Then he asks to open his blinds so he can look at the moon & stars. He's staring at the moon & asks, "Mom, what are those poems called when you put your hands like this?" and proceeds to put his hands together in prayer. I said "Do you mean prayers?" He said "Yeah, do I need to say them at my window or can I just use the bed?"
I guess we need to start going to church again.

I guess I can join you, my neighbor dropped our church bulletin in my mailbox today w/ Alex's name in it b/c she was christened there recently. She attached a note on it that said "Here's the bulletin w/ Alexandra's name in it, thought you might like to have it as a keepsake"- guess she noticed I'm never there!
ETA: I'm SO sorry, when I was reading this last night I was buzzed , so I didn't get the full post.

I know the feeling!
Patrick is big into talking about heaven. And he lets off his hellium baloons for his Grandma or Poppy. when we go to the cemeterary he tells me to "say my words" I must get that boy into church!

Kids really do think a lot more about religious/philosophical issues than most adults realize.
