How did you get on a panel?
That is so cool!
I was just in the audience! It was part of Book Expo America ( I go for work-- this part was just for fun though.)

Since they filmed in Bellmore & here in Great Neck there must have been a lot of Altmans. We got to see them filming the scenes in & around the sporting goods store - it was fun to see! I'm sure the sign said Foxmans outside.
They filmed on LI, but the book takes place in Westchester--not sure if the movie does too. I don't know how they check for clearance (phone book? census records?) & how far of an area they have to check.
I think this issue the specific name, so if there are Altmans in general that's ok, but there must have been a Wendy Foxman or a Judd Foxman or something.
The moderator asked if there were lots of Foxmans I out there & Jason Bateman said jokingly, "Just one. Just one, very litigious Foxman family." Then the director explained about clearance.

Re: Trailer for This is Where I Leave You is out!!
i read the book because of this post and i love it!!! i can't wait to see the movie!
im assuming they gave Wendy more of a role in the movie because it's Tina Fey...they also said she has 2 kids, but she had 3.
i wonder what else was changed.
It was filmed in Bellmore???? I never noticed!
