Sorry I had to comment again-that was just dumb!! I looked her up on YouTube; and she has had normal performances...is this just her way of reinventing herself? Trying to be different like Lady Gaga?

She's been around a lot longer than Lady Gaga.
And this is just one of those areas where some people are open to her uniqueness, and instead of calling her moronic, can just say "hey, that's different, and maybe I don't understand it but I won't knock it."
She's got an incredible voice, so who cares if her live shows are different and not the norm?

I think it's a cheesy gimmick, "look at me, I'm weird" sort of thing. I don't buy it's genuine, I think it's an attempt at being different, which I personally don't appreciate. She has a great voice, no need for ridiculousness. That goes for Lady Gaga too. Tries too hard.JMO anyway
It's one thing to NOT want to perform live and just have someone dance as you sing to the side of the stage. That's fine IMO. But the weird faces, the attempt at appearing crazy and weird, the laying in the bed face down while singing, or standing in a corner, stop with the gimmicks. She really loses respect in my eyes, for trying to be so out there.

Yup she's been around easily since 2003 when I first heard her song breath me. And she's different and artistic without being naked.
ETA I just read on Wikipedia that she cancelled a tour a year or two ago because she has Graves disease and panic attacks, and that it almost led her to quit all together.

I fell in love with her song destiny when she was in zero 7. I never knew she sang that song until I googled her after this performance.

I read something about this - Sia said that she's been a singer and songwriter so now it's all about creating performance art. 
Can't defend a second of this. This is bad. And Lena Dunham is horrible.
eta - Sia's been around since around 2000. She writes songs for herself and other people.
