Anyone preschool at home - also preschool/early education teachers please come in

Is/has anyone been doing preschool at home? I will be doing with DS at home as he is now 3 but having trouble putting together a curriculum. I have a great general outline of what things to do with him, but unsure of how much time to spend on each type of activity.

Example - his fine motor skills aren't great so I definitely want to do things like pre-writing worksheets with a pencil - but how many worksheets or time doing this should I do a day?

As many worksheets as he can tolerate. As long as the learning is fun! If you want to work on fine motor skills he can also be doing things like stringing beads or pasta on string.

For breaking up the day it really depends on what will work best for you and your LO. Some people like to have themed days. Days based on letters or colors or books and then all the activities relate to those themes (across the curriculum of course). You can pick things that your child is interested in or things they need to be exposed to more.

Otherwise you can just do random segments of the same things.

You should be practicing social skils, math, writing, reading, science, songs/music, physical/ gross motor skills, fine motor skills, art...

A lot of activities overlap these subjects/skills. So I would figure out how much time you want to spend "planned" and then just divide it by the amount of things you want to do.

I personally have a preference to themes. In my opinion it makes it easier and more fun.

There are so many resources online or you can go to Barnes and Noble and browse the early childhood education/curriculum textbooks for information.
