1 month old EBF baby suddenly spitting up

1 month old EBF baby suddenly spitting up like crazy. my diet hasn't changed at all. what could be causing this?

My DD started spitting up around this time too. The Dr called her a "happy spitter" as she wasn't showing any signs if discomfort. Their stomachs are still tiny and the sphincter that closes off the esophagus is still loose, which causes the spit up. As long as it's not accompanied by signs of distress or discomfort, there is not much that can be done except wait for them to grow a little. I also had oversupply and a powerful let down, so I would hand express some fore milk before feedings to make it easier for her to handle.

It's worth a call to the ped if the amount is concerning you, though.

Thank you. I think what you explained is my situation. Luckily we have a ped appt tomorrow. I'm pretty sure I experienced the same thing with my DC #1.
