What to ask OB?

Since AF arrived this month I'm sitting at OB office waiting to discuss next steps.
I have heard about blood work and even a sonogram to see if you are producing eggs.
What else should I be inquiring about?
I have been trying for over 6 months and I want to know what's up now rather then later.

Re: What to ask OB?

If you are under 35, they usually say when you have been trying over 1 year, then you should go to RE. Over 35, it's 6 months

The Dr. will probably do the basic blood work first and see what that says. CD3, CD21. They don't usually do Follie Checks at OB. They start off with the simple stuff first. Have you track your cycle (you can download an app) temp, use OPK.

I have been tracking since about April. Temping and OPK. I just know so many people who waited a year and then when they finally went for help it was a simple fix. They all wish they'd gone sooner so I figured it didn't hurt to inquire.

What to ask OB?

I just quickly discussed it with my DO, he's ordering MTHFR, Factor V, and full thyroid panel. Hoping to get some answers without having to go the whole RE route.

Re: What to ask OB?

UPDATE... So as I thought my OB told me I was over analyzing, but then she said I was actually Chat Icon too much prior to O. She told me to abstain about 4 to 5 days prior to being at Peak on OPK. I was doing it days prior to O and then after.
She did agree to send me for blood work which needs to be done on CD2 or CD3 and for a sonogram on CD7-CD12.
She also gave me a cup for DH!
Since tests need to be done once AF comes I'll give the whole Chat Icon another try before I go in for testing.

I think she was just saying that because you're stressing yourself out and not for a medical reason. It's really not a problem to Chat Icon often, even every day. If your DH has a low sperm count then you'd want to make sure not to do it every day (every other day has the same pregnancy results anyway). But waiting 4-5 days? That sounds a little weird to me, honestly. Sperm can live for up to 5 days so there's no harm in dtd a few days before your peak reading.

I mean, you probably want to trust your OB over some random internet stranger, but you might want to do a little research on this. Waiting 5 days to dtd in the middle of your cycle just sounds a little "off" to me.

I thought that was strange for her to say too because I know you shouldn't do it everyday but I would also think you'd want DH to let it out prior if its been a week or whatnot.
I was telling her that "they say" so she asked who "they" were and I told her the girls on LIF LOL
So I guess I do listen to online strangers LOL

Sorry to hear you need to go the RE route but happy to hear that it was worth getting the blood work done. I'm thinking like you. I'd rather get tests done now then wait only to find out what this issue is... if there even is one.
