calling BTDT moms - question about swings (and registering)
currently, we registered for the swing base that a car seat snaps into. swing frame
is that a good one?
is there a better one out there?
we registered for the car seat one for ease of transition - and b/c it was cheaper.
but if there is a really great swing (preferably AC/plug instead of batteries) that you recommend, please let me know!
Thanks!

Re: calling BTDT moms - question about swings (and registering)
ive never seen a swing frame, but i did have a battery operated swing and did not like it. the batteries died quickly and it didnt swing enough
i have the fisher price rainforest swing that plugs in - dd LOVES it. at 9 months there are times she will still go in it (not for very long but for 15 minus or so) - i highly recommend it

calling BTDT moms - question about swings (and registering)
I had a battery operated swing that I purchased second hand. I loved it. DS was in the swing all the time. We never had a problem with it not swinging, at times I felt that it was swinging too quickly and I had to lower the speed. I had to replace the batteries about every 8 weeks. For me, when it came to the choice between battery or plug, I knew that I would not be able to access a plug in my LR without moving furniture and there were no open plugs anyway, so it wasn't that important to me.

i never even knew they had these. i had just registered for a regular swing, i feel like these kinds (my mom had one like this for DD and my nephew but the swing came attached) they look tight to be in after a while when they get bigger. the regular swings give more room since they aren't car seat shaped

We had that one. DS hated his carseat and therefore hated that swing. We never used it.

I highly recommend the snug a bunny swing by fisher price. it plugs in or you can use batteries. it was the best thing when dd was a newborn. i had initially held off getting one but ending up buying it when she was a week old.

We had the FP snug a bunny that plugged into the wall with battery backup. DS loved it.

Get a regular swing for sure, it is more roomy and comfy then the carseat. If you are worried about price, Once Upon a Child in Sayville has really nice once that are less expensive.

I have snug a bunny too and DS loved it! We used it until DS was about 9 months! I never knew about one you asked about!

I also have the fisher price snug a bunny. My dd will still sometimes nap in it. She's 14 months. She likes listening to the music and plays with the mobile till she falls asleep. It was definitely a life savor in the beginning

I never used the swing frame. I registered for and used the Fisher Price Snug A Bunny swing. DD loved it. She would always nap in it too. Plus you could use either battery or plug in.

Re: calling BTDT moms - question about swings (and registering)
We had the snug a bunny and it was great.
While at first I thought the swing frame was a good idea - I can see it having a few problems:
1. Baby is screaming in middle of night and car seat is in the car - annoying to have to go outside and get it
2. The straps on the car seat have to fit really snuggly. You have to bend arms to get them in there - my daughter was a lot more comfy in the looser fitting swing straps - they aren't designed for high impact, just for the little swing
Every baby is different, some may love this product - we got our swing for free because a friend's baby hated it. It absolutely saved my life as it was the only place DD would sleep!

calling BTDT moms - question about swings (and registering)
We had a swing in addition to the frame you posted. It was helpful for us because DS had to be in constant motion to sleep for several weeks. So I couldn't just take him out of the car and put him on the floor. The swing was good because it kept him moving. But I don't think it would be good as a primary swing...

Re: calling BTDT moms - question about swings (and registering)
I never liked my kids being in their carseat for prolonged periods of time when they were infants so I would not have like that.
I got a Graco swing... plugs in, vibrates, plays music... pretty basic.
