BTDT moms-Swings with AC adapter vs batteries
Hello:
I've been trying to decide which swing to pick. DH thinks that we should pick a swing with AC adapter but I don't see that many choices out there.
Does anyoone has a swing with AC adapter that they will recommend, or does anyone has any feed back on the battery operated ones, was it a big hassle(please let me know if you would still recommend your battery operated swing?
Thanks so much in advance, I never thought swings was going to be one of the most diffficult thing to decide on, I know babies spend a lot of time in their swings and would like to pick the right one.
I appreciate your help.

Re: BTDT moms-Swings with AC adapter vs batteries
I can't really answer about the AC ones b/c mine used batteries. I always wished it plugged in though. However, I think I heard that the ones that plug in don't really work as well as the battery ones -- not sure what the difference is though. With this baby, I'm probably still going to use my old one that used batteries. It worked well for DD and expect that it will again. Yes, it was a pain to replace the batteries, but thinking back, I think they lasted a decent amount of time. As she got heavier, we went through them more often. You always had notice that they were running out -- the music would get slowing so you knew to have fresh ones ready!

My swing style was discontinued, but it did have an AC adapter. It was a Fisher Price - Starlight Papsan.
AC adapter saved our lives. DS lived in the swing for the first 2 months. We never had to worry about it dying on us.

I have the Graco SweetPeace that has the AC adapter and batteries. DD is only 10 days old, and we haven't used it all that much yet, but when I have, I've used it on battery power.

Re: BTDT moms-Swings with AC adapter vs batteries
I used battery swings with my first 2 kids and I always wished I could plug it in so I got the Fisher-Price plug in swing for my 3rd baby. I loved it. It worked great! When my oldest DD was 14 months old (25 lbs) and she would climb in, turn the swing on, buckle herself in and fall asleep in it! If you click the link I gave and look at customer photos you will see Kaitee sleeping in it at 20 months old!
My oldest DD loved it until she was 2 and it would swing with her in in with no problem.

I highly recommend getting a swing that you can plug into the wall - saves on batteries.
We have the FP Papasan Swing. This is by far one of the best things we received. DD used it almost every day for 6 months! I hated putting it away!
