I have never been asked for ds's age. My friends have never been asked either... They technically can't ask...

They don't ask the adults bht they do sometimes ask the kids nonchalantly. They have asked friends and said to my DD you are so cute how old are you. I had no issues with it bc they were 12 months and one month short of 3. So we were in the ok zone. The people I know their kids were 2 so legit. Others were not asked. I do not know anyone who was 3 or over though. I brought a copy of my DD's bc just in case becase we were close to her 3rd birthday. (We were celebrating my younger ones 1st birthday and they are 23 months apart).

If I remember correctly, DS was asked once when he was 4. He had a ticket. I am not sure if they knew he had a ticket because we pushed the double stroller in first and then we were putting in all our ticket cards. It will be different in the future because magic bands are live soon.

Children over 3 can go on plenty of rides and therefore are no longer free. I think cast members can usually tell which children are 3 or over and do try to elicit responses from children they question on their age.

A lot of kids are super tall for their age, I know quite a few that look several years older than they are! So looking at a kid is hard to tell. We were never questioned, and I don't know anyone else that has been questioned.
We were however questioned when our tickets wouldn't work properly. They had to manually scan, and the CM was asking my DD about the park we went to the previous day. When I walked away, I realized that was her way of trying to find out if they were really our tickets.

We just got back and weren't asked at all. DS1 is 4 and had a Magic Band so I guess they could tell from that. The MB worked most of the time, but the 1 or 2 times it didn't they just waved him through & didn't ask us anything. My little guy is only 1 1/2 so they never questioned us about him either.

This. We literally were there 2 weeks ago. I had a double stroller with the shade down and they never even asked me to pull it up to really look at my boys.

not that I think it is right to try to get free entry for a child over 3 but really? they try to elicit answers on age? no one should be questioning children and putting them in that position.

Exactly. That would freak me out. I'd probably tell DD- "we don't talk to strangers or answer their questions!" Like that place doesn't make enough money. Jeez.

I really don't think this is the norm at all. Them asking a child their age at the gate. They need to keep things flowing, not stopping every single stroller, lifting up the hood, and asking how old a kid is. I think those instances are really far and few between.

Yeah I can't see how that would be practical at all. The lines would be ridiculous to get in if they were doing that to every child in a stroller etc.

They don't... I really think that Disney likes to keep a nice image. I can't imagine employees asking kids their age. Unless the child is OBVIOUSLY not younger than 3 they just go by the honor system. Some kids are small and some are big for their age. Like I said... when I took my boys in a double stroller with the sunshade down over them no one said a thing or really looked at the boys. They check the bags and did a check around the stroller before the gate. I had the sunshade down anyway bc it was sunny and hot.

Re: do they really check the age of kids in disney?
We literally got back last night and my son wasn't asked once. He turned 3 like 10 days before we got there and so really he could have passed for 2, but I wasn't about to try and get one over on Disney so we paid his way and that was that.
