That is ridiculous. A 5 day program 3 hoursa day by me is about 3500-4000. A 2 day 2 hr around 2000.

I also send dd to tt program.
dont feel cheap! its a great program, as im sure you know!

Then we are both cheap lol My ds and dd both went to the TOI Tiny Tots progran. You really can't beat the cost. At the time it was $750 a year or $75 a month. They loved it and got the socialization they needed. They still ask to go visit their old teachers. My ds went to pre K there too. Dd would have gone too but she got picked in the district lottery for UPK.

as long as the program isnt filled and your child is 3, you should still be able to get in. my dd is afternoons and i know her class is small in the one she goes to. You can do a search for the town recreation guide.

I live OOS and we pay $70 a month for a private Lutheran Pre-K 2 days a week 9-12. Next year it will be $100 a month for 3 days a week 9-12. Once in school if you are a member of the church you only pay for books. The church absorbs the cost of the rest. That is an almost $3500 saving a year! Kids can come if they and their family are members or not.

In NYC and many parts of Westchester, the prices that are being quoted here on this post are ridiculously low!
Heck, I personally know many people in LI who are paying a lot more.

yes, I agree completely. I had a feeling that the schools by me are on the high end but I guess it makes sense bc the property values are on the higher end for long island as well- either bc it costs the schools more to run the programs or they just figure the residents will pay it! I still think its a racket and prices should be more uniform but unfortunately it is what it is and for us commuting to a preschool in another area is not possible due to work/care taker situations so we basically have to suck it up , much to DH's outrage over it !

ETA: Just to better answer your post - I looked at several schools in my area and this was not the most expensive school nor the least expensive. I also think it's hard to compare programs just by price...

I agree with the poster above. Looking into pierce counry day school and in Roslyn and the price is 11k for five days a week from 9 to noon

$5000+ for a 2-3yo program seems insane to me. What could they possibly be teaching a 2yo for that kind of money?

A family member of mine lives in manhattan and paid $22,000 for his two year old to attend a few hours a week.

Love the W. Islip Community Center, not sure if that is the one you are going to or not. They are great. Both of my older children went there and look forward to sending my lo when he turns 3.

My DD is in Montessori school FT but if I was a SAHM our neighborhood 3s program is $6000 from mid Sep- mid Jun for 3 hours / 3 days a week. I am in NYC.
