do you go trick or treating with the grandparents?
MIL is bugging me to let her know when she could come over tomorrow. I don't have a time because I plan on playing it by ear based on naps and my kids moods. She's not thrilled with me. I just don't want to feel obligated to bigger on a schedule. That will make a fun thing into an awful chore. I didn't see why pictures aren't good enough. I don't remember truck or treating with my grandparents. Am I wrong?

DS is 2.5, this is the first year we are trick or treating. We invited both sets of grandparents, and they are both coming. No one asked if they could come though, I don't think they would have been offended if we didn't ask.

I bring my son to his granparents door to trick or treat so they can see his costume. but no we don't trick or treat with them...they have no desire to go trick or treating at their age.

I would go nuts if my MIL wanted to go, but she lives in Queens  ! I will however go with my mom, only because DH works into the evening. If he did not work, I would go with him instead and my mom would stay home. I think she goes with me so I don't go alone.

We invited them to come with us - it's just my mom and MIL who are around.
My mom watches DS all week long, so she is going to enjoy her early afternoon off  We will dress him up at her house when we pick him up (we're both leaving work early to go out with DS).
My MIL may walk with us for a few blocks if she is up to it. More than likely she will meet us at my mom's and end up staying at my moms talking and drinking coffee together.

yes but we live upstairs from MIL so they are coming with us. this is DDs first year where she really understands it (shes 2.5). we went last year with MIL too but it was short lived cause she didnt really get it and it was right after sandy so spirits werent so high. they did ask to come along, but i wont make plans around them. it just happens to be working out anyway.

No, we don't ask them and they never asked. But I do stop by my parents house and our grandparents house so they can see DD in her costume and give her a treat.

my mom doesnt get home from work till 6:00pm and hasnt asked yet if she wanted to she is more than welcome too. My dad i dont think would want too but if he did he is also welcome too.
We dont speak to MIL but even if we did i would not be inviting her to come

We do. They begged to come. I don't recall my grandparents doing this for me or my brothers when we were little. I figure that we only have a few years where the kids will actually want us to come with them so I can share it with my parents. At some point in the near future I can see my kids would rather trick or treat with their friends than me.

Sorry but its a sensitive topic for me. My dad has so many plans and yes Halloween on was on the list. So for me, yes I'd like AJ to have her grandparents with her. Unfortunately he's gone. She (MIL) is states away but if she was closer, yes I think she would want to go with her and I would embrace it. I never Treat or Treated with my grandparents because we were military and away. I would have loved to have had that memory.
Like LSP2005 said.. they only want to hold our hands so long..

My ds is only 4 months so we are not trick or treating but if we were I probably would ask my parents and then by default I would have to ask my in laws. He is the 1st grandchild on both sides so everyone wants to see and be involved with everything.

MIL lives too far, but likely wouldn't want to come anyway.

No neither set is coming over. Im sure if they weren't working or were closer they would. I guess they need to stay home to hand out candy.
