Foundation in memory of Matthew, age 7

Matthew's Giving Tree is a wonderful Long Island organization, started by Dan and Shannon Cameron for LI children. Their son Matthew Aidan Cameron was born with a serious congenital heart defect in 2002. His life was one of impairment and difficult medical challenges, but this incredible family went above and beyond to give him the most normal and full life imaginable. Sadly, on January 19, 2010 Matthew’s life came to an end. They created their organization in honor of their gentle, happy little boy in hopes to help families with children like Matthew enjoy the big and little things in life. The mission of Matthew's Giving Tree Foundation is to help families provide the best quality of life for their children who live with disabilities and challenges.
These wonderful people have just provided my son Emerson with funding for therapy that will enable him to participate in a one-of-a-kind speech and pathology in motion program that will help him advance and learn at a crucial time and allow him to continue to improve and advance as he has been doing with his regular therapy, for which we are so very proud of him.
I am in gratitude to them for this priceless gift. They are eligible for a $10,000 grant from Jewelers for Children to be used to help them fund medical equipment for children and their families.
I ask that you take a minute to vote for the foundation so many more families can be helped, you can vote via facebook in 10 seconds.

They are remarkable people and truly deserving of this grant.Thank you all for your time and for reading, I truly appreciate it.

Re: Foundation in memory of Matthew, age 7

Thank you girls for voting!!!
They are still 400 votes behind- which is nothing when you think about how many people we have in our LIF community. I love LIF and know what a tremendous, big hearted, kind group of ladies we have here- always turning to each other for advice, input, info- and there's always someone to give you the answers you need, and vice versa. There are so many people on this board- if ANYONE reading this could take out the legit 30 seconds to vote, they would win by a landslide. PLEASE to my fellow stay at home mamas, the working mamas in the office, and everyone in between, take the 30 seconds to vote and it will mean help for our local children by a wonderful foundation, two people that turned the heartbreak of losing a child into something amazing to help others- I don't think I would be strong enough to do what they have done. They helped my son and its one of those "I can never pay them back for what they have done situations"- this is my only chance of doing so, of paying it forward. Thank you guys, you're awesome.
