Is this teething?
My DD has been sucking on her hands a lot and drooling. I don't know if the drooling is from just sucking on her hand, increased hunger, or the beginning of teething. DD is only 9w so I feel like it is too early for teething. (Figured it would be at least another 3w before that.)
Thoughts?

I dont think its teething yet, but at a certain point they start to develop a lot of saliva and drool. They tend to chew on their hands. My dd did this around 3 months and my peds told me its not teething its just normal development.
Buy lots of bibs! hahaha It went on for MONTHS and got worse before it got better. I would seriously go through 10 bibs or more a day. hahaha

Re: Is this teething?
Ds was teething at 8/9 weeks. They can teeth for a long time before any teeth pop out, so it could be, but it may not be. I was sure he was, sure enough he cut his first 2 teeth just after turning 4 months.

Re: Is this teething?
As the PP said, baby's teeth are constantly moving under their gums, so they can feel that. It's possible it's teething already, but it also could be many months before that first tooth pops out. DS started teething around 3 months but only cut his first tooth at 8 months.

Re: Is this teething?
Dd did this in the early on too... It was NOT teething at all. Just oral fixation really. My dd didn't cut her first tooth until 11 months!

That's what my doctor said at his 2 month appointment. She said he will probably be an early teether & even though they haven't come out yet, they may still be starting to bother him. Mine is also drooling like crazy all of a sudden and sucking on his hands.

DD was drooling and hand biting very early too, bit got first tooth at 8 mos. the doctor said the serious drool at that young age was a normal precursor.

My baby started this @ around 3 months when she learned she had hands & learned how to find her mouth.alll discovery & developmental...then again she could be getting a tooth which is inevitable. She goes thru 2 oneies/shirts a day at least.

Ugh I remember this! The sleeves were soaked, and they were dripping and soaking yucky alllll the time. Nope, not teething yet, just salivary glands running wild!
