HSG scheduled... Yay can't wait... Insert sarcasm- question about this

So I'm going ahead with the test- in on Monday for bloodwork to confirm I'm not pregnant. HSG on Friday at 1:00.

Question. Can I go alone? Do I need a driver? I I want to take a half day from work and go straight there. Get test done. Then I have a hair appt at 430 bc we have a wedding on Saturday. Am I pushing it? This hair appt has been booked for months. It's the blonde highlights- much needed.. Honest thoughts??

I would have been fine to do all of the above, I did a big shopping at BJs on the way home from my appointment. Some other people have had different experiences but you will most likely be fine.

HSG scheduled... Yay can't wait... Insert sarcasm- question about this

I was fine after my HSG. I took 4 advil beforehand and had no cramping whatsoever (but I had no blockage). I went for a 6 or 7 mile run when I got home.

I had someone take me but I would have been fine to drive home.

For me, it was painful because both tubes were blocked. But as soon as the test ended, I was fine. Small cramping. Took tylenol and was ok.

Ok good. I tried to reschedule but lady was a beotch in the phone. I only have one tube so if its blocked it can't hurt too bad since its not two. I've been through worse right??? Ill make sure I take a lot of Advil..

HSG scheduled... Yay can't wait... Insert sarcasm- question about this

I took a half day from work and went in the afternoon. I didn't love the whole experience and was kind of light headed and dizzy after but that is just mental.

HSG scheduled... Yay can't wait... Insert sarcasm- question about this

I am honestly curious....why do it if you are doing IVF? My dr never had me do it since we knew IVF was the end result.

My story is a little different. Long story short lost right ovary and tube in 2008 to benign ovarian mass. Had one on left ovary last year and before I had surgery I went to RE to freeze embryos in case I lost this ovary.

My gyno surgeon save ovary. Now bc I have low Amh bc of one ovary. My age Etc my insurance approved me for IVF right away. We tried maybe two months naturally did one iui then right to IVF. So technically I haven't been trying that long to get pregnant compared to others on here.

Now It's more curiosity and peace of mindto see if there is any blockage or scar tissue. Because now in my mind I'm saying it there is a blockage and its cleared maybe I can get pregnant on my own. Because everything else looks good According to dr. I guess it will just make me feel better taking another step knowing what's going on in there.

like most on here I was totally fine. went middle of work day, came back to work and was totally fine. the procedure itself was just a bit uncomfortable due to the plastic speculum they used. which was my only discomfort. had no blockages. the whole test itself took abt 10 mins.

I actually found the water soon to be more uncomfortable and gross. did u have this test done? I shld have this done before my first IVF as they discovered a polyp, tho it might have been caused by high estrogen levels I got to at ER day.

I had to do mine for insurance purposes. I didn't have the best experience. I wish I would have been knocked out. Some people say its no big deal though. I went alone. I was a little sore after and spotted. I went to work the next day. GL

I had no problems with the hsg. I was expecting pain but the whole experience was fine. There was one quick moment of uncomfortableness but it was over so fast and then they were done. I did mine in the morning and went to work after. Had a little spotting after.

I agree with the rest of the ladies, I had someone with me but it wasn't necessary. Just a little cramping afterwards.

I think you will be fine to go aloe and get your hair done. I read so many bad stories on line about bad experiences but mine was really easy and that was with my left tube being blocked - which they cleared it open - just minor discomfort and spotting afterwards - but you will be fine andGood Luck!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
