4yo boy: Lego duplo or regular lego?
DS is four and I know he likes to play with the Lego duplo in school. We don't have any Lego at home. Just wondering if it's a waste to getthe duplo. I hope he's not too old for it because I have a 17 month old so I didn't need any more small parts in my house. Thanks!

I would def go for the duplo. Especially with the little one running around. My almost 5 yr old was at the dr yesterday, and was playing with the duplo set he had.

my son is 3.5 and duplo is still perfect for him.
eta - I have an 8 month old, yet another reason I would consider NOTHING smaller. She puts everything in her mouth.

My older ds started putting together regular lego sets at 3.5 years old. We have a rule though. They must stay in his room so my younger ds doesn't get them. It works for now.

DS is now 4.5 and calls the duplo ones baby legos. There was a big change recently. Right when he turned 4, I think he still played with duplos.
We recently went to a science birthday party and they did lego robotics. 4.5yo DS thought it was the coolest thing ever.

4yo boy: Lego duplo or regular lego?
DS is almost 4 and although he plays with his Duplos still, he's more interested in regular Legos. His cousin who turned 4 in April got a bunch for his b-day and the two of them played with them for hours.
He currently has one small set and loves it. I am thinking he'll get more for Christmas/Birthday.
Since he has a little brother - they will be kept separately from the other toys.

we have both, but because I have a 18mos year old, I leave the duoplos out. His regular legos are put away until his brother goes to sleep

Dd is four and plays with the regular legos. She sometimes will still pull out her duplos but 9/10 she plays with regular legos or lego friends. I would just be super in top of them with a smaller dc in the house.
