At what age did you give DC a pillow?
DD is 14 months old and seems to be interested in a pillow to sleep with at night. Right now she is in her crib and uses a sleep sack and recently allowed her to have one or two small stuffed toys so she can play with them when she gets up. DS did not get one until he went into the big boy bed at 2 and did not seem interested in a pillow when he was younger.

At what age did you give DC a pillow?
DS will be 13 months on Thursday so unfortunately cannot nswer this question. Just out of curiosity, how do you know she's interested in using a pillow? Does she like to cuddle with one if you put her in your bed to play? Does she used stuffed toys as pillows? DS has had his Blabla lovey since he was around 6 or 8 months? (Love it because it is firm but still oft enough, and also breathable.) And he only plays with him when he wakes up, does not cuddle with him to go to sleep and does not use him as a pillow... But I always wonder the same thing - when is the right age? Interested to hear what the other ladies think. Personally, I'd probably be afraid to use one if baby is still young enough to be in crib.

Some kids stay in a crib until 3-4 years old, which is definitely not too young! There is no right age, just like anything else. To answer the OP we still haven't given her a pillow and she will be 2 in a few weeks. I would be fine giving her one, we just haven't gotten one to give her. I'd say I felt comfortable with it as of maybe 2-3 months ago.

I think we didn't give DS one until probably a couple of months before we moved him out of the crib at around 3 1/2. He just moves around so much. Even in his big boy bed now, half the time he doesn't use it anyway. We'll find him sleeping horizontally at the foot of his bed or diagonally upside down or something. He's always been very mobile when he sleeps.

She always rests her head on this flat but cushioned piano that is tied and sometimes slides to the mattress in her crib. She also likes to rest her head on our pillows when she is with us in the morning in our bed. I have decided to wait until she goes into a big girl bed which will probably be around the age of 2 - 21/2.

Sounds exactly like my DS. He's 4 now and has been in the bed since 2.5 (only bc I needed the crib for DS2). Still at 4 he hardly uses the pillow. Starts out on it then moves down. He used to move a lot more, but not as much. I plan on keeping the bedrails on for a long time.
DS2 is 2 in a crib and shows no interest in a pillow. He sleeps all over and only cuddles with a few stuffed animals. I tried giving him a blanket, but he refused it.

My DD was about 18 months when we gave her a pillow in her crib. She wasn't sleeping good and was waking up restless, we took a chance by giving her a more "comfortable' set up in her crib and it worked well for us.

by 12 months he had one...he loves havinga pillow. We got him the toddler one but now at 20 months he has a regular pillow.

It is not recommended before age 2. We gave our older son a toddler pillow right around 2. Our younger one is 22 months and we have not given him one.

Our ped says no blankets or pillows until 2 yrs old. My son is 26 months but haven't given a pillow yet. Pretty sure he wouldn't use it for his head.
