if you have a video monitor
just out of curiosity, do you leave your camera(s) on 24/7 or do you only turn them on when you need to use them? We have always left it on and I was wondering if that is the norm. Thanks!

I shut it off when I take DS out of the crib. Occasionally I forget but the norm in our house is to shut it.

It's on only when needed. Naps and nighttime. I don't want to burn it out plus I can't the background noise. I hate it all night. Nevermind during the day lol :)

I prefer the audio monitor since I find the sound so much clearer. I keep the audio monitor on all night and the video I only turn on to check on her when needed.

The camera is always on in DD's room, but the monitor itself is off unless we're using it (unless we forget and leave it lying around).

The actual camera that is mounted in his room we leave on 24/7 because it's too high up to shut off (for me) each time. But the handheld piece is only on when he's in his crib

the handheld part only gets turn on when DH and i go to bed

We turn the actual camera off every morning bc I saw a news segment that said criminals were driving up streets picking up monitor signals and using it to spy on people to see when they were home and out to rob them.
Sure it's not common, but freaked me out enough to always turn the actual camera off.
