Double stroller recommendation

I am having another baby and also I have a 41/2 year old that is about 40 lbs. He has some special needs so I will need a double stroller because he fatigues easily. Any recommendations for a stroller that is for a larger child and fits an infant carrier. It will mostly be used for outings to the aquarium or a museum.

Double stroller recommendation

My SIL has the Bugaboo Donkey and adores it. I do not have experience w it but I do have the Bugaboo Cameleon and I am thrilled with it. I know the Donkey does hold certain infant carriers (Peg Perego, Graco, Maxi Cosi - not sure about others). My SIL has nothing but very high praises. Congrats on #2!

I'm a fan of the Joovy x2.

It is big, comfortable for an infant (though not in a carseat), the most comfortable for a toddler (we tried out dozens in th store), and costs under $300. I got mine on sale for around $160. I'm sure the others above are great too, but their cost is just crazy $$$. It has a good shade, great under compartment. The negative is that it is heavy & I think doesn't fold well (but does easily).

Joovy is a great occasional stroller!

We have the Bumbleride Indie Twin and really like it. I think it is good for a larger kid. You don't even feel the weight difference between the kids when you push it. You can put the car seat in it, but it is not super secure in there. It has a good canopy and basket. It folds easily, but it is a bit heavy. I like that both seats fully recline and the foot rest adjusts.

Check out the City Select. It can be configured in a bunch of different ways to accommodate the toddler seat and infant carrier, or even two infant seats. Can't wait to use mine!

I think the weight limit for the seat though is 40 lbs.

I have a City Mini double and am happy with it - although one of the wheels just randomly locks. It's good for going places like the zoo and whatnot. I've seen people shop with it too and have no major issues (I only usually take one kid shopping).

Re: Double stroller recommendation

I have the Gracco Ready-to-Grow and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! Highly recommend it.

I wanted a front & back, not side by side. Its perfect and actually more comfy that the "sit and stand" ones

Re: Double stroller recommendation

My DD is 4, also about 40lbs. with special needs too and so will also need a stroller for a longer time period. I tried the City Select, and the Graco Ready to Grow. She was too big for them (her feet could reach the wheels and she'd stop them from rolling)! I ended up with the Britax B-Ready. She sits up in it much higher than in the others, and still has plenty of room in it. I even had my 7 year old sit in it to see how much growth room there was, and even she still fit in it. And you can put the infant seat in it as well as adding a second seat once the infant seat is outgrown. And it rides so smooth.

I actuall have an extra one to selll if you're interested. We bought one, and some how ended up ordering one as well, so there is a NIB one sitting in my garage. Let me know...I'll give you a great deal on it! I'd say to go to BBB and try putting your DS into several different ones and see how he fits in each of them. I spent a day at BBB and BRU trying DD in every double they had until I found which was the best fit for her.

I had the wheel locking issue also with my citi mini gt. It was a defect and there was a recall. We got a new wheel from BBB.
