Toddler vitamins, with flouride?
My Pediatrician gave my DD vitamin drops with flouride in them by prescription. After talking to my gfriend at work shes tells me that she doesnt for her kids because flouride isnt supposed to be ingested.
So that got me thinking, why does it say on the tube of just plain Tp do not swallow. But here I am giving it orally to my DD.
Anyone have any suggestions for vitamins other than "with Flouride"

I've heard this about fluoride too, but I grew up in the city and they put fluoride in the water (I never had a cavity until I was 17 and moved to LI). So I'm sticking with the fluoride vitamins from the Dr.
There are lots of OTC vitamins w/o fluoride in the vitamin aisle at CVS. I'm sure your pharmacist could recommend one.

on the toothpaste it says do not swallow because they wouldn't be able to regulate how much fluoride you ingest and someone could accidentally swallow too much. for vitamins, they can.

Your friend is correct and incorrect. TOO MUCH fluoride is dangerous. But very small amounts help break down bacteria, which helps prevent tooth decay, and fluoride also promotes new born formation.

Yes. Too much flouride is not good.
The amount in the vitamin is controlled.
I took flouride vitamins for years growing up and my teeth were always great.

I never gave my children vitamins with fluoride because I don't want my kids to swallow it. I use Tri-Vi-Sol for now. I will give them fluoride as soon as they can spit out the toothpaste.
