Switched from crib to toddler bed. Need help
We switched to toddler bed fri night. DD is 2.5. First night was good, second night she was walking into our room 2x per night. We brought her back to her room, held her and she fell asleep in her bed til 7am. Sunday night she awoke at 4am, tapping me and asking "what's your favorite color" lol, DH picked her up and let her sleep in our bed.
Last night was worse and she got up 2x more. DH let her in our bed again ( I stayed in spare bedroom). How do we stop her from waking up and roaming into our room and trying to climb in? A gate? Then she'll be standing at the gate crying. I told DH enough with allowing her in our bed.
Help! I feel like it's the newborn stage all over again, waking up all night! How long is this going to last for until she gets used to it?

As soon as we switched our son to a toddler bed, we put a doorknob cover on his side of the door. We told him if he needs us, he can call us on the monitor. If she has the freedom, she will use it. If not, she'll get used to not having it. I would nip it in the bud ASAP though, before it creates a habit.

Ds got out of bad once tried the door and couldn't open it. Played a little bit with the area rug an then went back in bed and went to sleep. They haven't gotten out since. Good luck!
