Theoretically they are the same thing. One is made by similac the other is made by enfamil. DD's dr prefers enfamil products so she is on nutramigen. But a friend gave me left over alimentum and she was fine with switching back and forth.

My ds is very sensitive to dairy. I am on a total dairy free diet. I tried alimentum and he had a bad stomach from it. I never tried nutrimigen.

alimentum VS enfamil nutramigen
My dd had both and the milk allergy can excerbate reflux. I had my dd on alimentum and zantac 3x per day until 6 months when she outgrew the reflux. Shes now 13.5 months and still on alimentum.
There is no real difference just brand. I went with alimentum because first time around i tried nutramagen and dd threw it up. And then i had free samples of alimentum so i tried that and dd did better with it.

Re: alimentum VS enfamil nutramigen
It is really th same, just different competitors make it. DD was in nutramigen for about 2 weeks but her symptoms still got progressively worse so at that point, we had to go on rx formula, which IMO, smells and tastes a lot better than nutramigen!
