We make DDs food and send it to daycare in these BRU brand plastic baby food freezer containers (16 containers for approx. $10-11) We labelled them 1 and 2, so daycare knows the order to give them in, fruit is 1, veg is 2. They each hold 2oz, which is slightly more than 1/4 cup.

My daycare said as long as it is in a very tight-fitting container (ie rubbermade) and labeled, it is fine to send in homemade food. I personally use those oxo tots cubes.
