Re: Hawaii or Ireland?
I don't think you can go wrong with either but Ireland is on my list of places to see way before Hawaii. I have been to a bunch of islands in the Caribbean and while they are all beautiful I get bored after a while. I am sure Hawaii is different but something about Ireland, the landscape, the history, its definitely a place I want to see

Re: Hawaii or Ireland?
Ireland. I love the beach but I don't need a whole week of it. I would rather have fun things to do like explore different cities.

Hawaii or Ireland?
Flights to Ireland are cheaper, too. It's one of the cheapest places overseas to fly. I think I paid 400 a ticket when I went.
I'm so in love with Ireland. And it's small. You can see a lot of the country.
If you decide on Ireland, feel free to fm me. :)

Re: Hawaii or Ireland?
If you have 2 weeks to take the vacation, I would do Ireland because you can do so much and enjoy it alot. If a week and only looking to relax, I would opt for Hawaii.

Re: Hawaii or Ireland?
Ireland! My grandmother grew up there & I'd be interested in seeing it & exploring, I've heard it's beautiful!
I wouldn't turn down a trip to Hawaii though & I love the tropical climate better than the rainy cold, but if I had to pick just one to go to in my lifetime, I'd go to Ireland.

I would do Ireland, only because both dh and I have been to hawaii
Same here.
If I had never been to either location it would be hard because both are SO unique in their own way and both are SO different from one another.
Only because I have been to Hawaii, I can truly say, there's really no place like Hawaii - it's so unique and beautiful. We loved it there, just loved it.
But then again, I have family (and DH too) who have been to Ireland and they say the same thing about going there. So, for me, if I had never been to either place it would be a really hard decision.

Hawaii or Ireland?
hawaii. i hear it's like paradise. i hear a great deal about how amazing of a vacation it is. ireland, for me, would be a choice for a different type of vacation - more like an adventure in cultural anthropology.

I'm from Ireland & going home in a few weeks. Now that I don't live there anymore I can appreciate the beauty of the country. However, DH & I want to go to Hawaii next year.

Re: Hawaii or Ireland?
I've been to both. I'd pick Hawaii. You can do as much as you want there or do nothing, and just *being* in Hawaii you feel so relaxed, so at peace, so overwhelmed by the weather, the music, the food, the people...
Ireland is a nice vacation too but it's more go-go-go: sightseeing, museums, walking tours, pub crawls, etc.... at this point in my life, that sounds more exhausting than anything.

Re: Hawaii or Ireland?
I've actually been to both places. They are both beautiful! But IMO, they are two totally different vacations. When I went to Ireland, we were constantly on the go. Drove around the entire coast, stood in BnB's. Weather was ok but chilly. Hawaii was also beautiful. Stayed in beautiful hotel. We did drive around but was more of a laid back vacation. Much longer flight! With that being said.....I loved both places and definately want to go back to both. However, if I had a choice and had to pick one.....it would be Hawaii!
(you really can't go wrong with either one)

Re: Hawaii or Ireland?
I think if you wanted to rest and relax, Hawaii.
Ireland I would want to see as much as possible.
I never been to both but I think they both seem beautiful.
For myself, I would want to go to Hawaii first. The plane ride seems insane and I would just want to get that over with. (Hate flying)

It would depend on the time of year but likely Ireland.
I've been to Hawaii multiple times.

Re: Hawaii or Ireland?
I have never been to Ireland but would love to go. I heard its beautiful!
If I had to choose, I would pick Hawaii. I love Europe, but the vacation is not very relaxing. You are constantly on the go. Hawaii is so relaxing. Another poster said it is like any other tropical place and that is so not true. I have been to many carribbean islands and Hawaii is so much more. Kaui is paradise. Is is so green and beautiful!! So many things to do then just sitting on the beach. Though I must admit I don't mind sitting on the beach or at the pool at all.
