Things I didn't expect in the 1st trimester...
Swollen feet - at 12 weeks?! I drink SO much water. It has been ridiculously hot and humid recently which isn't helping, but I certainly didn't think I would need to be concerned with my feet swelling this summer since I'll be so newly pregnant
And I also didn't expect to start showing! This is my 1st pregnancy and I have an athletic build and fairly flat stomach. I thought I could easily conceal this until the 2nd tri, but the last week or so I can't hide this belly. I wake up looking normal but by the end of the day I feel like my stomach is 6 month pregnant size. As soon as I eat or drink something my waistline starts to expand for the day, haha

I had swollen feet too around that time and still do as I'm in my 3rd trimester. Try to keep them elevated when you can.

I had no idea how exhausted I would feel... It was unbelievable how exhausted I felt every single day in the first trimester.

I think the weather doesn't help with water retention / bloating.

You can only do so much to keep your feet from swelling especially in this heat.
Stay off you feet when you can.
When you can sit, try to put your feet up.
Whenever possible... feet should be way up... 'higher than your heart'.
Lots of water... and I firmly believe in a good soak in an epsom salt bath. If you don't like to take baths, get something to soak your feet in and pour warm water in with a cup of epsom salt at the end of the day and soak until the water is cold.
Watch your salt intake with food and drink and keep it cool in the house.
