good family day trips....
If you have a 4 and 6 year olds what are some fun day trips to do out on the island (aside from atlantis). Looking for something different to do. Can include a nice family beachbut we were looking for more than just a beach.

Montauk. You can see the light house, do the beach and walk around the town and have some lunch. It's a nice day trip.

We are going to Greenport on Saturday for a day trip with the boys. I hear there is a nice carousel there.

We are going to Hoyt farm tomorrow. There is also the spray park at the BAYSHORE marina.

I have never been to Montauk and I would really like to visit it this summer. Where in Montauk would you recommend?

Port Jefferson, Holtsville Ecology Center, Bayard Cutting Arboretum, LI Children's Museum, Greenport, Shipwreck Cove, White Post Farms.
