New here- anyone go to northbshore lij Manhasset?
Hi ladies- I'm new to this board and have already learned so much from reading all your posts, so thank you.
DH and I have been ttc for 6 months(seems like no time to some I know), I have PCOS so at my initial preconception visit with my gyn she recommended I see an RE and gave me their number. That being said, she said I shouldn't have a huge problem getting pregnant, she did bloodwork and ultrasounds.
We decided not to go right away and just see what happens. I have had only 3 cycles since being off bc, 86 day long cycle, not fun at all. I know the last 2 I ovulated but did not become pregnant. So after temping and poas every single morning for the past 5 months I got my "period" with no ovulation this weekend. After discussing with DH we decided it was time to make an appt with the RE.
My dr recommended the center at north shore lij at Manhasset, does anyone have any experience there? Or a situation similar to mine?
Thanks in advance.

I was a patient of Dr. Hershlag. I liked the office and you see a Dr everytime you go. IUI's can be done in the afternoons which is nice. Hershlag was a bit pompous but no big deal. I prob would have stayed there for my IVF if they were not extremely expensive.
Good luck!!!

I go to Dr. Mullin - she sees patients in Garden City but is part of the practice and I have gone to Manhasset for monitoring. I think they are good - quick with bloodwork results which I like, and as the previous poster mentioned you always see a doctor for monitoring, etc.
I have PCOS among other things, and so far they have been giving me what sounds like the "standard regimen" - start with Clomid, then Letrazole with IUI, if that doesnt work then injectables with IUI. but hopefully with just PCOS it wont get to that point - best of luck in your journey?
mama2b - is North Shore more expensive than some of the other practices with IVF?

I got prices from LI-IVF, RSNY, NSUH and Dr. Zapantis and they are the most expensive with IVF. I also have insurance that covers 75% of the costs too

Me too! My primary doc was Dr. Chu, but Dr. Cohen did my IUI.

My OB/GYN recommended Dr. Mullin and I liked her practice. I didn't end up going with her because she didn't take my insurance. I am at RSNY and see Dr. Trivax who I am the most comfortable with in their practice. The nurses are lovely, but it is definitely a baby making mill over there. I don't care about that as long as they can get me pregnant! Good luck!

Just as an FYI - people will recommend the dr's where they had a good experience usually pregnancy. Def check them all out and see which facility will fit all of your needs. You are going to hear negatives and positives about all the drs but you need to make the best call for your situation.

Agreed. I didnt like all of the doctors there but I still would recommend them. The nurses were wonderful as well @ NSUH

NSUH was so overpriced it was ridiculous! Every cycle I was paying a couple thousand out of pocket and had zero success.
