Re: How old will LO be at his/her Christening?
Both my DDs were 7 months. This one will probably be around the same age.

How old will LO be at his/her Christening?
my DD will be almost 8mo. I was just dragging my feet on planning things, most of the kids in my family were baptized between 2-4 mo.

Almost 7 months. We keep joking that she will be able to walk up there herself and dunk her head in

How old will LO be at his/her Christening?
My mother did all of ours within a month of birth .... Old tradition in case something happens to the baby they become an angel not a Cupid
We are due in October but I have to wait until the god father dH's brother will be here from Cali. So I have no idea which stinks .... May push the issue of when he will visit when the due date gets closer

Re: How old will LO be at his/her Christening?
People really do it when ever they want depending on the time of season. I know my church doesn't do Christenings during lent and I am assuming most done. The tradition was that you wanted the baby Christened as early as possible so **god forbid** something happen the baby would go to heaven. I am torn between doing it early at around 8 weeks before lent or waiting until after lent in May and the baby would be around 4 1/2 months. Do what you think is best. Our church starts the planning process when you are 4 months pregnant. They tell you to contact the church and start with all the stuff. I am not sure when they give you a date.

Re: How old will LO be at his/her Christening?
DD was 3 months exactly.
DS will be at least 6 months. We still haven't chosen a date. We do small baptisms so it's not a huge deal, as long as the important people can all be there. Also, our church stressed that it's not important to rush to baptize like they used to say.
