If you use strictly RTF formula
How do you handle being out of the house for several hours - specifically how do you carry formula? DD refuses powder so that's out and we use alimentum so my only other option is the 8oz cans which a) are expensive and b) I end up wasting 3oz since she is only taking 4-5oz.
I found the Thermos Foogo which claims to keep liquid cold for 10 hours and is vacuum sealed to prevent bacteria entering and growth. Any reason I can't fill this and carry it to fill bottles while I am out? I don't really see it as any different than premaking bottles and leaving them in the fridge for 10 hours. The formula is still cold (in theory) and should be safe from bacteria.
Any other ideas?

When I was using RTF and when I bring DS's milk cup out I use a small cooler nag made by munchkin that I bought at BBB. I've seen it at target too. They say up to 12 hours, idk about that long, but i have been out with it for 5-6 and the bottles were fine.

I used a small cooler bag as well or the individual 8 oz bottles when DS was older (he was on Sim Sensitive).
For DS 2, it was so much easier with the powder.

We order the 2 oz bottles off abbott nutrition store online... we use them when we are out and about with DS.
ETA we just open how ever many we need and pour into a bottle (usually 2 or 3 depending on how hungry he is)

I got the playtex cooler bag at BRU. It doesn't fit a bottle of formula but it does fit 2 8oz bottles.

That's the link for target. I know Buy buy baby has it too. The munchkin website says BRU should have it but i didn't see it on the website.

DS uses Alimentum...I used the 8oz cans..and ended up wasting 2 oz...I would use a coupon when I bought the cans so it wasn't that bad, and never used more than one six pack every 2 weeks. If I knew DS was due to eat within an hour of us going out..I would make a bottle and bring it with us..if not, I would use the can.
Since your LO is drinking less, why not get the 2oz bottles? I know if could be $$, but if you are not out and on the go all the time, it may be worth the convinience. I noticed diapers.com had good prices compared to BRU for the cans, they just sell theirs in bulk.

I have a cooler compartment in my diaper bag and I just put an ice pack in there. It work greats with the 4 ounce bottles but now that my DD is drinking more then that, it's a pain in the ass trying to squeeze the big bottles in there.

I went to Target and got this cooler bag (different design) 
I would make bottles and put them in here with some ice packs. They lasted a few hours that way. It was nice too because now I use it to bring food with me. It's a PITA lugging around another bag but, using the Mommy hook on the stroller helps lol
Sometimes I would buy the RTF 8 oz bottles and bring them with me and make the bottle out and toss what she didn't drink. Wasteful but it was good in a pinch

Loved thisFridge to go!!! Literally like a mini refrigerator with built in ice packs in it's walls that you freeze the whole bag at once. Best for keeping bottles soooo cold.

hmm...I wouldn't chance it for some reason when it comes to formula. At least the one I used above was FOR formula, kwim?
