Can you tell me how your stay was?
Does baby stay in the room the whole time?
If you had a c-section do you see the baby right after they finish your section? I know with DC1 I didn't her for four hours after having her
Pros, Cons you can share please.

I delivered there Dec 11. The HIGHLY encourage you to have the baby with you. I was told if my DS gets fussy at all they would bring him right back.

I had a csection and I saw DS after I got out of recovery and they finished doing all the initial tests etc with him.

I had DS there last April via c-sec. He was in the room with me the whole time and they brought him to me after I was out of recovery. I waited maybe an hour or so. They encourage rooming in. You can ask the nursery to take the baby but like the PP said, if they are fussy they bring them right back.

I had dd in September 2011. I had her at 5 am(unplanned cs) and saw her in recovery at 830. I just had ds in january as a scheduled cs. I had him atnearly 4 pm and didnt see him til I got into a room at 8. they urged me to keep him all night but the first night I was still cathed so I couldnt get out of bed and change him. they did bring him to me to nurse. afrer that he stayed with me. I will say that my experience im 2011 was much better than this one. I had one nasty aide. I called the nurse to help get ds to latch.the first night because it was hard to maneuver him with my body nimb. the aide came in and told me the nurse is too busy to help.with bfing and I need to figure it out. the nursery nurse fought me on supplementing with formula and told me I had to speak with 4 people first. keep in mind I have been exclusively pumping for ds. it wasnt a bad experience but I wasnt thrilled. sorry for typos... im on the treadmill lol

I was there Nov 2011 (and 2008 for DC#1)

My stay was great. I loved my nurses, both times. They did encourage the baby to stay with me during the day, but never gave me a hard time bringing him to the nursery at night. I was really trying to breastfeed and they really tried to help me, and didn't give me a hard time when I gave up. I did not have DS with me for 4 hours after the section. (what sucked the most about that was that I was under anestesia for delivery. So I delivered him at 9:30 , was still asleep when they took him out. I got to see him for the first time 4 hours later. My DH and family had already seen him. I was crying to the nurse that I just wanted to see him , but there was nothing she could do, she said)

I'm delivering there and at the hospital tour they said unless the baby is in nicu that the baby stays with you. My gf just gave birth there and she was a little put off at how they just handed the baby to her and left with no direction. I'm a little nervous but trying to stay positive.

I delivered there 2/1/13. I got DS right away in the delivery room and then not again until a few hours later (gave birth at 7:30 and got him at 11ish) because of complications with my labor. I had him until 12 and then sent him back to the nursery so I could get some sleep. DH asked when I'd get him back and they said 9ish the next morning. I couldn't get up to go get him or take car of him without DH in the room because I was still hooked up to IVs and had a catheter. DH came around 9, but they never really brought me DS -- DH had to go get him around 9:30. I kept him for most of the day, but sent him back to the nursery so I could take a nap from 1:30-3ish. I sent him back to the nursery the second night too. I never had a hard time with them taking him!!!

I delivered my twins there September 2011. When I went to my room they brought me both babies. I was overwhelmed at first with all the people there and the nurses saw it in my face and made everybody leave for a little bit, so we can have alone time with our babies. The nurse and assistant were very helpful and explained and also helped my DH change the babies diapers, because I couldn't get up the first day. They also explained to us how to burp the baby and how many ounces the baby should be drinking. The first night I didn't keep them in my room, they went back to the nursery, but the second and third night they wanted me to try to keep them for the night, but they did say if I felt tired or anything to call and they would come for them. The second night I sent them back around 4am until about 7am, so I could get some sleep. The third night I kept them the whole day and night. I loved the hospital and staff.

I was there in Oct. I wasnt thrilled with them at all to the point where I won't deliver there again if I have another baby. I posted once about it. I can find it if you want.

One DD was in the NICU and the other was in the regular nursery. I brought her back to the nursery every night. I had them at almost midnight. I was out of it in the OR but they brought them to me to show me. I was up in a room about 2:30 am and a nurse came in shortly after and asked if I wanted to see DD for a bit. I was still SO out of it that I declined. I was in no position to hold her and DH had just left.

I had the most amazing experience at Good Sam, just this December.

I had a csection- it was planned- this was my 1st baby and I was super super nervous and anxious!

My experience with seeing baby is probally a little different because I got a strongggg cocktail of somesort by the anestesiologist during the csection so I could realx so I was very in and out of it for the whole first evening (I had him at 2:30pm). Regardless though, when they were prepping me for surgery, my wonderful baby nurse asked if I wanted skin to skin right after and if I wanted to be with him right after and I said yes. So, I believe, right afterwards, I held him while I was in recovery for a bit and then he was in the nursery for a bit and running their normal tests. That evening, I had him in the room and held him.

I only gave him to the nursery for like 3 hours my whole stay. To be honest, I shouldve had they take him a little more each evening so I could sleep but I was in love and didnt want too lol.

Anyway, I thought basically every nurse was amazing and caring and responsive. The nurses helpers were also wonderful and so sweet! I really loved that the first evening I believe, a nurse came in and sat with my husband and I for about 45 minutes going over a lot of things about babycare and was so sweet and patient with our silly questions.

I felt I received excellent care!

If I had to say one con, it would be that I had to ask for my pain medication, they wouldnt bring it to me without asking, even though I was allowed to have the motrin every 6 hours and the percs every 4 hours. So this really screwed me up as I was trying to keep track of that in addition to keeping track of when the baby had gotten fed and changed. After one time of me losing track of time, I was in such horrible pain and had to wait a while for the pain meds to kick in after requesting them. I dont know if this is a hospital thing or something my doctor ordered.

I delivered there June 2012.

Had a great experience and nothing bad to say about delivery.

But, recovery was a different story for me. I had preeclampsia so I was hooked up to magnesium for 24 hours, so I needed assistance to use the restroom, which of course was often. So I would have to page a nurse if DH wasn't there and I would get SUCH an attitude about it. It made me feel so bad.

Also, the second night I asked them to take the baby to the nursery so I could try to get a little bit of sleep. (Since I was up every hour on the hour the night before so they could take blood and read my blood pressure) They hesitantly took him and brought him back 20 minutes later and told me he was hungry. He was sound asleep.

LO was having a hard time latching on, so although I was trying to breastfeed, it just wasn't working out. I'm a new mom and they knew that... the nurses I had made me feel so guilty about it and when I had the nerve to ask for the lactation consultant, I was advised that she is not there on weekends.

Finally, the morning after I delivered thel pediatrician came in to tell me that LO's circumcision went well. ( I wish I could remember his name, he was so helpful and wonderful) & then about an hour later a nurse came in to tell me that my LO is ready to be circumsized. uhhhhh WHAT?!!! I never found out the source of the confusion there.

I guess I could've just been unlucky with my nurses... but either way I won't be delivering there again. & I have several friends and family that each had wonderful experiences there, so I guess it's just luck.
