Running after a c-section?
Prior to having DD, I was a huge runner, and ran a half marathon when 5 weeks preggo. However, I stopped running after my first tri, and now that I'm 11 weeks PP would like to get started again. Some of the stuff I've been reading online about running after a c-selection is a bit scary, so wondering if anyone here has success stories, or tips on getting started.

Re: Running after a c-section?
I started running about 6 weeks pp after my c-section after doctor gave the ok. I went much slower than usual, but I had no issues. When the weather was nice I ran with DD in the jogging stroller. What problems have you heard of? I would say just listen to your body. Everyone heals differently so if something feels not right, stop and don't push yourself, even a little. Take it easy and eventually it will be fine. Good luck!

Running after a c-section?
6 weeks and I started running again. I was careful the first few weeks but honestly, it was fine...I was stressed for nothing ;)

I just read a few things online about people saying their incision really hurt while running, or that they'd be in a lot of pain later that day. But good to hear you were ok. Thanks for the info!

Good to hear. I have so much anxiety about starting, so hopefully I feel the same way!

Re: Running after a c-section?
I started running a few months after, but I was doing some light step aerobics at home before that.
For me running was painful when I first started. It killed my lower back and pubic bone region. I just took it really slow and did mostly run walks. After a few weeks the pain started to ease.
Just listen to your body and take it easy the first time out.

That's what I'm scared about. It'll probably be so frustrating for me to take it slow, bc I'm used to running 6 - 7 miles at a pretty decent pace. Thanks for the advice!

i just started on the treadmill the day after my 6wk pp exam. i've run alittle bit each day. the first day i alternated, walk 1/4 mi, run 1/4 mi, walk 1/4 mi run 1/2 mi. each day ive increased my running by 1/4 mi. im sore from running and all the jiggling but it feels good. just take it slow.
