Rice cereal or oatmeal cereal

DD will be 4 months this week. We would like to start her on just a little cereal mixed in with her milk in her bottle but I don't know what the diffeence is between these two cereals. Is it better to start one over the other? Can I skip the rice cereal and just start with the oatmeal cereal? DH bought oatmeal cereal already.

I did oatmeal. I never did rice until he was older because it can stop them up.

The only one we ever did was oatmeal. Talk to your ped it. Cereal in a bottle is usually not recommended.

We did rice in bottle.I believe at 4 months though you start spoon feeding. I would just start with 2 teaspoons & see how baby does. I would make sure you check with dr first.

You shouldn't be putting cereal in the bottle unless the ped tells you to.
At 4 months we started DD on cereal from a spoon
Rice was first- but it constipated her so we went to oatmeal

We never did rice, only oatmeal. My girls had reflux and gastro doc. told us to put it in their bottles.
