I was 36 when I delivered my 2nd...my Dr. never even mentioned an aminio. NT scan came back great. So it was something I never thought of.

I'm 35 and pg with my 3rd. My dr discussed all the possible tests with mebut ddidn't push amnio or cvs. When I told my decision...I want nuchal, mat 21 but not amnio or cvs unless the numbers are bad, he said he completely agreed with my decision.

At the end, there will be some more tests because of my age. They will have me go for weekly BPPs starting at 36weeks. Normally they don't do that until you are overdue. They also won't let me go more than one week past my due date.

I was 34 when i had my kids and declined all testing except sonograms. Most of the blood tests are wrong(very rarely accurate and have like an 85% chance of false positive) They are 100% healthy

I am 36 and pregnant with #3. I declined any invasive testing out of fear of mc. My OB did not push it. We did do an NT scan and Mater21 testing, which is just a blood test.

I knew either way I was keeping this little bean, so for me results didn't matter. I did however want to be as informed as possible, so we could be prepared.

I asked my OB about this at my last visit since I would be 35 having a 3rd if I decided to and he said he wouldn't push for any invasive testing just because of age - he just does all the routine tests (ultrascreen, bloodwork, level II) and if there ia a cause for concern he explains the testing available as he would at any other age.

I wanted it for peace of mind ... 38 for first baby, 41 for second. I did the amnio the first time even though my numbers were great. Second time the numbers were not so great ... did it and now I have two healthy babies! You also have to look at the Dr. statistics and experience if doing an amnio. I did not want CVS and MAterni was not covered and is is not as exact as amnio.

I'm 35 now pregnant with my 4th. My 3rd child had higher risk results for ultrascreen, 16 week BW, etc. so I did go ahead with an amnio (I was 33).
With this child, I was told it was an option but it wasn't pushed. All my results were normal so I opted not to proceed. If they were abnormal, I would have done the Mat21 or whatever is offered now.

I was 35 for my ds. Mynumbers came back elevated from the NT scan- which i did not have a choice about having. The sono was beautiful but lab work put me at an increased risk. Was offered an amnio by ob, but refused then at teh 20 week scan, a radiologist gave me grief about not doing it. I have no regrets adn my ds is perfect.!!
