Dd was born in September and I think after 4-5 weeks I started taking her out. We went to lunch, the supermarket, Bbb, my parents, in laws, some friends houses and once the hurricane hit we went to the mall almost every single day because it was warm and we only ran the generator at night.

She always stayed in her infant carrier and only family held her. If I went out I just washed my hands before I touched her. She also has lots of cousins and they all came to play with her. I wasn't overly pleased about this but she is 5.5 months old and hasn't been sick yet (knock on wood).

I think it's a personal decision and you should do whatever you feel comfortable with!

One of my friends didn't bring the baby out for 6montha and another when he was like a week old!

When ds was a baby we spoke to our ped about it because its hard to stay home when you have older dc. She told me to keep the car seat covered. We went to a restaurant at 6 weeks.
