Mother's Helper?
I am going to be asking a friend's daughter to be my "mother's helper". She is 12. I have a 2 1/2 yr old and a 2 month old. I need her to basically play with my 2 1/2 year old so I can clean the house, laundry etc. What is the going rate? I know 12 is a babysitter age (or so i've been told?? But I would never leave a 12 year old alone with my children. This is my first experience with all this so I need some guidance! Thanks!

I had a mothers helper last year and I paid $8/hr. she was 15 and played with my 2yo and 3yo

I would say $5-8 an hour is fair.

Mother's Helper?
I have my friends 11 year old niece for 2 hours every week. Her mother won't let her take more then $5 an hour. I plan to give her a $1 more on her 12th birthday and go up like that. I work from home so they just play right outside my office.
