Umbilical Hernia/Belly Button Hernia

I was at ped because my 4 week old son's belly button was protruding a lot. The dr told me it was a umbilical hernia but is soft and reducible. He said it can take months-year to go back in. I did some research on this and it seems relatively common. Usually self resolves. Do any of your children have this and if so how long did it take to go down? Thanks!

My co-workers DD had this and I think within a fe months it was visably better but overall I think by a year it was gone.

One of my triplets had a huuuge one. It protruded from his onesies. Ppl were horrified! I was convinced he would be in the one percent that needed surgery but it was gone by 4/5 months and now at 8 months he has a lovely innie :)

My youngest who was a preemie had it. Took a year but its not fully in now at 2.5. Dr said as long as it was not protruding after a year, we were ok.
