My closest friends live far away, hours away since we moved out of state. I try to see them once a year via a girls trip or visit with family.

Locally, I see friends about once a month for book club, or a dinner out.

I do have mom friends that I see at least weekly with the kids.

my husband is overly supportive too.

In fact for my birthday, he planned a trip for me and 3 of my friends to go to the city early on sat and come home late on sunday. He paid for the room, broadway show ticket and my jitney.

BUT it's with my 3 friends who dont' have kids (well 1 does but has a ton of help family wise).

Most of my girlfriends that i do stuff with... don't have kids. I've given up on my girlfriends that have kids because they never are allowed out.

With my childless friends, we go to the movies, go out to dinner and so forth quite a bit. I love it!

How much time do you spend with your Girlfriends

With my girlfriends - not counting neighbors, mommy friends from daycare or DH's friends wives... And not counting outings iwth kids...

My local girlfriends pretty much hit the road once they got significant others. We'd go out occasionally but, now that a lot of them have kids it's rarely. I've given up making childfree plans iwth them because one always cancels at the last minute and it frustrates me since I have to usually line up childcare to work with her schedule!

My college friends who live out of state - we plan a trip once a year. It's generally a girls trip but, last year we did a smaller group with couples.

This year, I have gone to visit my friends once (without kids but, they all had theirs) and we're planning a trip for early April - just a girls trip.

DH goes out with the guys/guys trips fairly often so I think it's more than fair!

Very very rarely. Last year I saw my friends 2 times that were without my kids. I'm the first of my friends to have kids so they all have time to get together and I have no time.

I spend quite a lot of time with some of my friends, and others, I see rarely. My local neighbourhood girlfriends I see maybe twice a week for coffee and gossip. I go to a lot of playgroups with my friends, so we spend a lot of time together as our kids are all similar ages.

I think its great that you get out.



I'm always trying, just cant seem to get schedules together.


DH gets together with his friends every friday night.

I ideally would like once a week.

When we lived on LI, we only really used family as sitters, so I was hesitant to ask them to babysit too much. DH was always great about letting me go out, but with everyone's wacky schedules, I only went out with friends maybe once every 1-2 months.

Now that I am a SAHM, I feel like I go out a lot, maybe 1x a week, sometimes 2. DH goes out too, but only 10% as much as I do He's been awesome, and knows that being able to go out with friends here helps me keep my sanity, but I also try to host GTGs at my house so that he's not stuck home alone all the time.

I am very lucky, and I make sure he knows I know it

ETA: I think it also helps that all of my friends here are SAHMs, and our DHs are all pretty much friends as well because they work together. They all have kids.

not that much. We try to get together once a month, but it doesn't always happen. My one bf from hs I see more because she will stop over to see my DD and me or I'll go there with my dd.

But I don't go out with my friends like I used to..never away for the weekend. Only once for my bf bacherlette party.

I also try to go out with my mommy friends once a month for dinner, but again it doesn't always work out.

My husband goes out with his friends more.

Thank you all for your feedback! I am glad I am not alone! Also to add, ALL but 1 of my HS friends moved away. I was very lucky, everyone stayed...I am sure that might change over time but most of my friends married NYPD, FDNY or Teachers so I know they aren't going anywhere for now :)
