Introducing Solids to Infant
How quickly did your dc start opening their mouth to the spoon, or actually like to eat solids? DD is 6 months. I started cereal with dd a little over a week ago and have also tried mixing 2 diff fruits in with it so far. She never opens her mouth for it and is really not interested at all. It's almost a struggle to get her to even eat it. Is it too early to start worrying ? Or is she just getting used to it ?

I forget but I feel like it took DD a while.
Don't worry, she'll get the hang of it.

Introducing Solids to Infant
Probably a week or two. DD would open her mouth but would push everything back out again at first. I wouldn't worry at all, just keep trying.

Introducing Solids to Infant
We started DS at 4 months and he was opening his mouth from the beginning. That is how we knew he was ready. OUr Ped said not to force it....if he wasn't showing interest then no to force it.

Re: Introducing Solids to Infant
the cereal is a gross taste, I tried it.
We stopped giving oatmeal and rice cereal and went straight to veggies and fruit. We didn't mix them together.

At 4 months she got it from the first spoonful..and it was only rice cereal. I wouldn't worry though, some kids take longer learning what to do. I think DD was just hungry b/c she hated her formula and drank the bare minimum.
