Anyone know how long bronchitis is contagious for?
We were planning to go to our friends house tomorrow but their daughter has bronchitis.
She had a fever yesterday so they took her in & found out that's what it was.
She started antibiotics this morning.
Do you think it's crazy to still go tomorrow?
I wouldn't think she would still be contagious but if DD got sick, I'll hate myself.
Would you go?

If she still has a fever, then I wouldn't go. Once a person is on antibiotics for 24 hours it is suppose to be ok, but a fever would keep me home..

It would depend on if it is bacterial or viral. But if she had a fever yesterday and started meds today. I would not go. The general rule is 24 hours fever free on no meds (ie motrin etc) and 24 hrs on antibiotics. Since she had a fever yesterday and only started meds today she is very likely contagious so I wouldn't chance it.

DH just got dianosed with bronchitis today. The MD told him to stay away from the baby (9 months old) for a week. The very earliest he could come near her (since there's no avoiding it in our condo) is after his cough stops.
So, I wouldn't go if I were you guys.
