Another STTN Post - Help
DS is 10 months...I have never let him CIO..he had reflux very bad when he was younger and I was afraid he would spit/up and choke...he goes to bed after a bottle at night and I put him into crib asleep. (I know, problem #1)
He used to STTN 80% of the time, and if he woke up it was usually once, and all I needed to do was rock him for 5 min and he would go right back..and usually slept 10 hrs a night.
The past month or so..he wakes up more..may 2x..now that he pulls himself up..he wakes up even more and makes it impossible to get back to sleep..which results in him being up for an hour. I usually go in his room at this time take him out of crib..rock him..or if desperate, take him into my room for sanity..which I swore I would never do.
Last night, I let him CIO for the first time..45 minutes..it broke my heart..he finally went to sleep, and then woke up two hours later. I didn't want him to cry again so I went to him.
I feel like a failure...I don't want to be a reason why he doesn'thave healthy sleep habits...
Any suggestions/advice would be greatly welcomed and appreciate..thanks.
edited to stay he still doesn't have teeth..can this be all from teething?

I havent done cio but i just wanted to let you know i feel your pain. My ds is exactly the same way and has been waking up several times a night for the past few weeks. I read that babies can have a sleep regression at this time so im hoping it will stop soon. He did sttn for the first time in forever last night so i am keeping my fingers crossed! Hope your LO starts to sleep better soon!

My 10 month old is same way. I can't do CIO and she has been getting up 2x a night. I do the exact same things you do and I also will give her a bottle. I know it is not the right thing to do so I cannot offer any advice except to tell you I am in the same position.

I do CIO and I know it sucks to do but honestly it works. DS goes through times when he wakes and one night cried for an hour. But since then he has been STTN. Usually if its a change in sleeping its cause they are teething or learning something or sick.

I'm right with you! DD is 9 months and is finally getting close to STTN. She had a pretty rough patch and is finally coming out of it. She STTN very early, then started waking once a night, then twice, then some nights it was 3 times. I usually bring her to my room, nurse her back to sleep, and then put her back in the crib. It's the fastest, easiest, and most reliable way to get her back to sleep. She does go down fine at bedtime so I've never had to do CIO then. I've tried it a few times when she wakes up an hour or two after I've already fed her. Most times it would work pretty quickly but then she'd be up again after 30 minutes or an hour and I would end up getting her. It's so hard to go through it and then hear them cry all over again not long after! I've waited it out and she's been doing much better lately without me having to do CIO.

Re: Another STTN Post - Help
My DS is 9 months and still eats 2x during the night. Has never STTN, ever. I WISH I could take him in my bed but my 3 year old winds up in there most nights.
